Re : RNBOsproGetVersion()

Hi!
  I've successfully used this thread to fix an issue with MecSoft's VisualCAM for Solidworks 2014. I had a similar problem to that at the top of this thread; my hardware key (a sentinel SuperPro) stopped working when the newest Windows 10 update was installed (Build 1803). I would get an error when launching SolidWorks 2017 was trying to load the add-in from MecSoft, that the dongle was not connected; this would cause the add-in to load in demo mode, and I couldn't export anything from the add-in. MecSoft told me that my software is out of support status, and suggested I buy their newest version (for $2500!!).
  Thanks to this thread, I noticed that my issue is similar to what others have experienced after this Windows update, and that VisualCAM also uses the sx32w.dll library. I downloaded the libraries linked above by GauravBhanot, extracted them, and replaced the sx32w.dll inside the VisualCAM folder within the C:\Program Files with the one from the download. Everything works now, without paying $2500! Thank you! I hope others can use this info to solve this problem as they update their machines, as well!

I have resolved my issue with help from Gemalto Customer Support.  The Java DLL sxjdk.dll has to be built using files from the Sentinel SuperPro SDK version 7.1.0 plus the above update.

In summary  - Install the Sentinel SuperPro SDK version 7.1.0 then copy the new spromeps_dual.lib files from the above 7.1.0.12 update into the appropriate folders under C:\Program Files (x86)\SafeNet Sentinel\SuperPro\7.1\Interfaces\Java JDK
Use Visual Studio to build the Sxjdk.dsw project.
Note that I build this using Visual Studio 2017 + Java 1.8.  I have only built the 32 bit DLL versions.

I hope this is useful to anyone else with a similar problem

Sentinel SuperPro Parallel HASP to USB to Parallel for Windows 10

I'm in the process of replacing a Windows 7 PC with a Sentinel Parallel HASP token on a PC and installing this and the software onto a Windows 10 Laptop.
I've purchased a USB to DB25/Parallel adapter, however I keep getting an error; Error 12 Dongle not found with the software.

I've tried installing the following drivers;
Sentinel System Driver Install for SuperPro Version 7.6.0
Sentinel HASP LDK Windows GUI driver 7.8.1 Installer

However neither seem to fix the issue.

THe USB adapter comes up in Device Manager as USB Printer Cable, as it would, however it doesn't show the HASP dongle.

The dongle says Rainbow Technologies Sentinel SuperPro.  However googling this it comes up with this Sentinel support.

Is there a driver available for this to work in Windows 10.  This works fine in a Windows 7 environment on a PC.

Hi Michael,

Here is our feedback:

1. Your software use a "Parallel Rainbow Technologies Sentinel SuperPro".
The drivers designed to detect this type of hardware key are the "Sentinel.sys" (x86) or "Sentinel64.sys (x64).
This driver is included in the "Sentinel System Driver 7.6.0" installer, but it is not fully tested on Windows 10, therefore it does not installed by default.

To force the installation of the "SuperPro Parallel Driver", you have to select "custom install" during installation of the "Sentinel System Driver 7.6.0" and add the "Parallel Driver" component.

(This could eventually resolve the Error 12 that means: SP_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED ).

2. On Windows 10 "Spring Update" (version 1803), old Software protected with old SuperPro Library could return  Error 12 or  Error 19 that means: SP_OS_NOT_SUPPORTED

in such case, you can try to set the application .EXE file to run  in "Windows 8" compatibility mode.
(right click -> Properties -> compatibility -> Run this program in compatibility mode for: -> Windows 8)

3. USB to Parallel adaptors/converters are not supported for "Parallel Rainbow Technologies Sentinel SuperPro" as they do not add a LPT port with a "physical address" (i.e. 378) in Windows. Therefore the Sentinel Drivers can not communicate with the Parallel dongle.

See "Enduser Guide" (http://www2.gemalto.com/support/files/SafeNet_Sentinel_EndUser_Guide.pdf) to check in Sentinel driver configuration utility, (SetupSysDriver.exe) if a Parallel port is detected.

In order to add a Parallel port on laptops, the solution is to use a laptop equiped with an ExpressCard slot and purchase a ExpressCard Parallel Adaptor. (but Laptops with ExpressCard slot are rare ).

Alternative is to use a Desktop PC and add a "PCI Express Parallel Adapter Card".

Olivier

SuperPro doesn't work with our software

Hi,
we are using superpro since many years. We still link our program (Windows mfc) to a spromeps.lib from 1995.
Until now that worked. We used  driver 7.6.6
With driver 7.6.9  RNBOsproInitialize() doesn't succeed. The dongle is shown correctly  in the windows device manager, but we can't read it.
Is that a known problem, and could a newer lib help, to solve it?
Thank you for answers
Dieter

Thank you,
with new libs it works also with new drivers.
But I can't read old parallel-port-dongles. With the old version, that worked.
Is it possible to do that ?

in spromeps.h is something like:

#define SP_KEY_FORM_FACTOR_PARALLEL 0
#define SP_KEY_FORM_FACTOR_USB      1
#define SP_KEY_FORM_FACTOR_SOFT     2

Its good to know that your program works fine with new libs and latest sentinel system drivers 7.6.0.

Please note that the mentioned content of spromeps.h are key type constants.
In order to use parallel port keys, you would require to choose 'custom' as Setup type while installing the Sentinel System drivers 7.6.0.
Then click the icon in the list for parallel drivers and install it. Refer to the attached screenshot.

Hope it helps !

Error message reporting no dongle or dongle has been tampered with...

We have been using a series of Superpro and Ultrapro dongles for a piece of software we have. Over the past month we have seen error messages stating the dongle is unstable and that they have been tampered with. This causes the software to close. It seems to be localised to the red Ultrapro variety of dongles only.

Has anyone seen anything similar and does anyone know a fix?

I have removed the dongle drivers both by uninstalling them and also by using Gemalto's removal tool. I have reinstalled the software too but nothing seems to help. There are multiple dongles involved and it occurs on differentcomputers...
